Update

I can't believe I turned off the comments on the blog. Now I am home but you can make comments now if you still want too. I thought it was funny that I wasn't getting any after the first day.
I will have another entry about our trip home and some short videos for you in a day or so.

Asakusa Park

We went back the to Asakusa area today to do some shopping and found a nice little park. Our legs are so tired from walking that I feel like they are going to fall off.

Thanksgiving in Japan

Well, for one thing, there isn't Thanksgiving in Japan. That is a US holiday so we didn't have turkey for lunch or dinner. We went out to do some more shopping and had some fun just seeing some Japanese sites. Our legs are getting tired but beefy from all the walking and thousands of steps.

See the pictures from today below.

Tuesday in Japan

We had a long and busy day today. This was a day for Savannah to shop and we hit at least 30 stores today. We stopped for some sushi for lunch and ate little snacks all day. We ended up eating a great pasta dinner in Harajuku right after Savannah had scored on some good shoes and outfits. We found a popular second hand clothing store and she went nuts. We came home and got dressed up to go visit the temple here in Tokyo. Now we are so tired and ready to go to bed. So check out all the pictures from the post above.

Today we went to the Ginza area in Tokyo. This is where all the famous brands that you would find all over the world have large buildings and stores. We went in the Sony building and saw many new and interesting items that we don't have in the US yet.
We then went to Asakusa which is an open market like a fair. At the end of the market is a big Shrine. We walked around trying to find a place to eat Yakisoba. We found a very good place.
We then went to Ameyoko, another street with many shops. It was raining a lot so we didn't take any pictures. We were very tired so we came home and we are now warm and resting.

We went to Harajuku and Yoyogi Park today. There is a bridge leading into the park where teenagers put on outfits that no one would be caught in unless it was Halloween. In the park there are lots of people just dancing to entertain everyone.
We went to Harajuku which is a famous place for teens to buy all the latest fashions and wierd clothing as well.

The 20 hour Trip to Japan

We made it! Since I got this flight to Japan from miles I had racked up with Delta, it was the cheapest and most unpopular route they could put me on. We flew out of Salt Lake and got to Minnesota just fine but our flight out of Minnesota was 1 hour and 30 minutes late due to mechanical issues. We got to Japan late and took an hour and a half bus ride down to my friends house. We went out to eat at a local place and now we are trying to be tired and go to bed even though it is 11:33 at night here, it is only 7:34 am at home. I've attached a photo of us at the little yaki tori place. More tomorrow.

The Night Before Travel

The night before our trip and I will not be able to sleep! I'm all packed and the suitcases came in just under the allowed 50 pounds. Tomorrow we will leave from Salt Lake Early in the morning. On our 13 hour trip from Minnesota, we will try to sleep right away for about 6 hours if possible. Then we will stay up as long as we can the first night. That will help us start to get a good nights rest and avoid the jet lag where you wake up at 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning wondering what to do now.

Sunday we will go to church first thing and then visit some parks to see the beautiful gardens.
Until then, I will be sleeping and flying.

I'm so Excited!

I can't hardly wait for our trip. Only 3 days left. We will be on a long plane trip on Saturday. We start in Salt Lake City and go to Minneapolis. Then from Minneapolis to Tokyo. We will be flying for about 15 hours on Saturday. On the way back, we have the tail wind factor and it cuts our travel time down to about 7 or 8 hours to San Francisco and then an hour and a half to Salt Lake. So about 6 hours less on the return trip.
